The World We Live In

I don’t know about you but I’ve struggled lately to even have words for what is going on in today’s world. I think that’s why I’ve delayed my next blog post because I just haven’t been able to think clearly the last few months. It feels like a constant state of uncertainty, mixed emotions & confusion.

We (Lambert Jewelers) stayed closed for nearly two months. We were finally able to open. Then we receive news from across the country of jewelry stores being broken into and destroyed. Thankfully, our store is nowhere near the “big city” and we have remained unaffected by the protests and riots, business wise. Personally, I live in the “big city”, about a mile away from the Columbus protests and have observed police and news helicopters and swarms of police and armed forces gathering to try to control the situation. It has hit too close to home.

My own heart is weary and saddened by the state of our nation right now. For the sick and elderly who have passed away from Covid19. For the family members of those who have passed away. For all the ways in which the virus has interrupted people’s lives—job loss, food insecurity, loss of revenue, homeschooling kids, the list goes on and on. For the oppressed, my dear friends of color, who were born into a disadvantage just because of the color of his or her skin. For police officers, who are being scrutinized right now but many who are just trying to provide for their families, protect the public and do their job. For the businesses that are once again shutdown because of looting. My heart is burdened by it all. I don’t know who or what to believe. What to say or do. How to move forward through this. I don’t know what the future looks like.

But, what I do know is that my hope is rooted in Christ and His salvation.

But, what I do know is that my hope is rooted in Christ and His salvation. That’s the only reason I have some semblance of peace and joy in my life. I hope that you can find a similar hope in this season of tumultuous times.

And if you’re still not finding peace, try jewelry. (I had to relate this to jewelry somehow 😊) Here’s a list of some new collections and projects we’ve been working on over the last several months!

1. JaxKelly- We will soon have Crystal Candles both in store and online. When melted down, a real crystal appears and can be saved! Candles are $22 each and include Citrine, Amethyst, Moonstone, Tiger’s Eye and Rose Quartz. In addition, we will stock their gemstone earrings with a raw edge look. Check out the collection here.
